3 all-rounders with a base price of ₹1.5 crores who might start a bidding war

The big auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13.

Over the course of two days, close to 600 players will be put to the test. Following the acquisition of the Lucknow SuperGiants and the Gujarat Titans, as many as ten teams will bid for cricketers from all over the world in what is expected to be the T20 league’s final major auction.

At the highest base price of 2 crores, 48 participants have registered their names for the auction. Furthermore, 20 cricketers are classified in the 1.5 crore category, while 34 sportsmen are listed at a reserve price of 1 crore. 370 Indian players and 220 overseas players will compete in the big auction.

Jason Holder

Jason Holder, the former captain of the West Indies, was outstanding in the five-match T20I series against England at home. With a strike rate of 7.4 and an economy rate of 7.78, he took 15 wickets. Holder started the series with a perfect 4 for 7 record and finished with a 5 for 27 record. Four wickets in four balls were the highlight of the later effort. He scored 36 runs and took three wickets in the series’ last T20I, albeit in a losing cause.

Over the previous two seasons, the Windies player has made a strong impression in the IPL, particularly with the ball. In seven matches for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2020, he took 14 wickets at an average of 16.64.

Holder took 16 wickets in eight games last season with an average of 15.43. Aside from that, he made cameo appearances with the bat. Holder’s experience and form suggest that he will be in high demand in the IPL auction.

Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar has made a stunning recovery to the ODI team in the current white-ball series against the West Indies at home, following a tough fight with injury and COVID-19. In the first ODI in Ahmedabad, India’s off-spinner all-rounder took 3 for 30 and was instrumental in the team’s victory.

Sundar has a strong track record of suffocating opponents in T20 cricket. He has 74 wickets at an economy rate of 6.76 in 98 matches. He has the ability to open the bowling and keep everything really tight. In recent times, he appears to have improved his game and has begun to take more wickets. His abilities have also been demonstrated in the Test format.

After 42 IPL games, Sundar has a good economy rate of 6.93. His rising worldwide profile could result in a slew of lucrative offers.

Jimmy Neesham

James Neesham, a New Zealand all-rounder, has been playing internationally for a few years. However, both for New Zealand and in franchise T20 competitions, he hasn’t been able to reach his full potential. In the meanwhile, he continues hinting at how great a match-winner he can be on his good days.

With a sensational cameo in the match against England, Neesham flipped the T20 World Cup 2021 semi-final on its head. In an IPL 2021 match for the Mumbai Indians (MI) against the Rajasthan Royals, he took 3 for 12 wickets (RR).

That might change in the IPL 2022, as clubs are likely to look at Neesham’s all-around skills while looking for true match-winners.
