First Face-Off
Both Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore had a disappointing start to their campaigns in the inaugural edition of TATA IPL in 2008. The first encounter between both teams was in the 5th match of the tournament on 19th April 2008 at the Wankhede where the South African legend Mark Boucher helped the Royal Challengers Bangalore to register a win over the Mumbai Indians. Coincidently, Mark Boucher is now the head coach of Mumbai Indians.
