IPL 2022: Predicting 3 bowlers who might pick up most wickets in SRH vs KKR match

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 25th match of the IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. KKR leads the head-to-head record between the two teams, having won 13 of their 20 meetings.

KKR is in the second position with three victories from five games, while SRH is in ninth place with two wins and two losses. Both sides have relied on their bowling abilities to suffocate opposing batsmen before enabling their batters to finish the job.

Obviously, both Kolkata and Hyderabad will be counting on their bowlers to deliver in batting-friendly conditions at the Brabourne Stadium tonight. On that topic, we’ll attempt to forecast the top three wicket-takers from the tournament.

Umesh Yadav

With the new ball, Umesh Yadav has been the lynchpin for KKR, producing enough movement and landing it in the perfect locations to catch hitters off guard. Given that the Brabourne Stadium’s pitch is projected to take on a green hue, the Vidarbha seamer is expected to return to action.

Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma, the Sunrisers’ opening duo, have been slow in the powerplay overs. Another obstacle for the Orange Army tonight is facing one of the top powerplay bowlers in the IPL.

While Williamson has a favourable matchup against Umesh, the latter should be confident in his prospects considering his recent purple patch.

Marco Jansen

Marco Jansen has quietly slid under the radar in the middle of Umran Malik’s scorching pace, Washington Sundar’s precision, and T Natarajan’s yorkers. The South African has had a terrific couple of games, bowling crucial periods that helped SRH win games against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT).

Jansen is most equipped to exploit some of the KKR hitters’ weaknesses against the short ball due to his ability to extract more bounce due to his towering height. Nitish Rana, Sunil Narine, and even skipper Shreyas Iyer have all been found wanting in the past against well-directed short deliveries.

Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine has been in the terrific form once again in the IPL. Even a decade after making his debut with the Knight Riders, the canny Trinidadian remains the franchise’s ace weapon with the ball, despite his enigma.

With Kane Williamson, Rahul Tripathi, and Nicholas Pooran among SRH’s top spinners, Kolkata’s hopes of neutralizing that danger rest with Narine. Aiden Markram isn’t as good against spin as he is against pace, so Narine should be able to hold his own tonight.

The West Indian veteran should find himself among the wickets once more, given how he nearly usually ignores the pitch.

He’s bowled against Tripathi in the KKR nets previously, and he’s played a lot of cricket with Pooran. In the KKR-SRH match, Narine is expected to be among the leading wicket-takers.
